We do not journey alone

One of my favorite sections of the Lord of the Rings books is in the Fellowship of the Ring where Aragorn is trying to get the hobbits to Rivendell. They are being chased by the ring wraiths. At this point in the story only Aragorn really has an inkling as to just how fell these foes are and the hobbits are careless and foolish. After the attack on weathertop the Hobbits are fleeing with all haste and it increasingly looks like their quest to make the safety of Rivendell will fail. What Tolkien manages to convey in the book is that there are unseen elven warriors supporting their flight in ways that the hobbits are unaware of. These powerful allies have been moving unseen throughout much of the journey and they are not to be dismissed.

If your way is dark and you are afraid remind yourself that you are not alone. If you live in the community of Christ and you are open to sharing your burden and your trial there will be saints praying for you and allies who you may not be aware of who aid your steps and help you get to your a safe haven.
