  1. Mark Bjelland says:

A lot of truth there. It is easy to abandon one’s faith when its expression was shaped more by popular culture than the living tradition passed down from the apostles. My generation of Christian parents (Boomer/Gen X) have given our Millennial and Gen Z children a watered down faith with little awareness of the great cloud of witnesses who have gone before, scant intellectual depth, an absence of mystery, a superficial understanding of Scripture, and little sense of the divine. All too quickly the young faith shaped in seeker-sensitive churches has been abandoned for a me-centered spirituality or a political religion of the Right or Left.
