Could we write and talk about CS Lewis and Johnny Cash if they were still alive today?
I’m enjoying a lot of Lewis material now at the 50th anniversary of his death. We have a picture into the dark matter of Lewis’ life, Mrs. Moore, S&M, etc. Is this just lurid sensationalism, the dirty laundry of the saints?
In all fairness it is a tradition the Bible maintains. Tamar, Bathsheba, Esther.
Death allows the story of Jack to be told. We all judge but the worth of our judgments don’t travel far. It’s tough to fully appreciate Lewis the saint without seeing Lewis the sufferer.
