  1. I understand the argument Dreyer is using here, and I am sympathetic with it. I think, however that issues of Christian ethics are more malleable over time than issues of fundamental doctrine (Trinity, hypostatic union etc.) I think this is demonstrable through history. It’s probably because issues of ethics are more sensitive to the cultural values and norms. Dreyer would argue, of course, that male/female differentiation is creational and therefore normative as doctrine.
