Because what is REALLY important is being “cool again”.

Isn’t this the ironic heart of much of “evangelicalism”?

Imperial Liberalism Peter Leithart

http://www.patheos.com/blogs/leithart/2017/11/colonizing-liberalism/

Liberalism thus, Legutko argues, has an inherently expansive, imperialist drive. It’s not enough to have institutions of popular rule; it’s not enough to eliminate chattel slavery. Tyranny and authority appear in many different sectors of social life. Authority is pervasive, and so the liberating agenda of liberalism must be equally pervasive.

Studying Ezekiel 16

Ezekiel 16 may be seen as one of the most offensive, sexually explicit, outrageous chapters in the Bible. I think it is one of the most interesting and gospel proclaiming passages in the Bible. In these three lessons I try to locate the context of this parable in the Exile in the Babylon and show how it declares the radical love of God for his people in the context of the Babylonian story of Gilgamesh.
