   Here’s my problem with this kind of “Christian” perspective on sexuality. What about holiness? As Christians, aren’t we supposed to be “holy as God is Holy”? Is this not the goal of our faith? Instead of the church being a light in the darkness it has become a mirror of the darkness and this is exactly why all its arguments have failed to win the cultural debate in our society at large. Evangelicals and Catholics are often considered hypocrites on sexual matters and not worth taking seriously when those who are perceived as part of their moral and spiritual leadership are caught up in their own sexual failings.

   Also, there is a danger when, as a society, when we legalize and neutralize sexual preference because there are still some sexual preferences that are considered illegal and universally unacceptable-so far. Sexual preferences such as pedophilia, or necrophilia, or sex with animals, or rape and incest are an example of a few. Also, sex is never just an empty biological act, there is the undeniable truth that some of the worst psychological traumas are caused or rooted to a thing called “Sexual Abuse.”

   My simple argument is that the act of sex is never a neutral issue especially for those who consider themselves as part of the church. Again, for those in the church holiness is the issue. Godly holiness is what leads us to true spiritual freedom. (Gal.5) Remember the Apostle Paul said in Romans 6:14-15, “Sin shall not be your master because you are not under the law but under grace. What then do we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By NO Means!” True godly grace, as the Apostle says in Romans 6:19 always leads to holiness. That’s how we know that it is the grace of God and not just an empty moral empathy. Grace is never an excuse for sin but the God given ability to flee from sin. Romans 6:1
